"Phantom" Miniature Schnauzers are just a BYB term for a mismarked dog. FYI: Liver, Parti etc are non-standard colors in the MINIATURE but can be registered with the AKC in the USA. The absence of banded hairs tells you the dog is not a 'Salt/Pepper' and can be any other color. With a normal parti schnauzer, you see a contrast because all parti schnauzers are white with colored spots. Colors for their costs range from solid black, white, salt and pepper, and many Miniature Schnauzers have a silver outer coat with a very soft undercoat. The American Miniature Schnauzer Club only recognizes 3 colors of Miniature Schnauzers (Salt and Pepper, Black and Silver, and Black), but the Miniature Schnauzer comes in many different colors: Liver, White Chocolate, Liver Parti, Liver and Tan, Liver Pepper, White, Black Parti, Salt and Pepper Parti, and Black and Silver Parti.
